On Affine Invariance in the Beltrami Framework for Vision

We use the geometric Beltrami framework to incorporate and explain some of the known invariant flows e.g. the equi-affine invariant flow. It is also demonstrated that the new concepts put forward in this framework enable us to construct new invariant flows for the case where the codi-mension is greater than one e.g. for color images and video.

Variational Beltrami flows over manifolds

We study, in this paper, the problem of denoising images/data which are defined over non-flat surfaces. This problem arises often in many medical imaging tasks. The Beltrami flow which was defined in an explicit-intrinsic manner is generalized here to non-flat surfaces and is defined in an implicit way. We formulate the flow in a variational way which is generalized to a scalar field defined ov...

Beltrami States for Compressible Barotropic Flows

Beltrami states for compressible barotropic flows are deduced by minimizing the total kinetic energy while keeping the total helicity constant. A Hamiltonian basis for these Beltrami states is also sketched.

ALICe: A Framework to Improve Affine Loop Invariant Computation

A crucial point in program analysis is the computation of loop invariants. Accurate invariants are required to prove properties on a program but they are difficult to compute. Extensive research has been carried out but, to the best of our knowledge, no benchmark has ever been developed to compare algorithms and tools. We present ALICe, a toolset to compare automatic computation techniques of a...

ASIFT: A New Framework for Fully Affine Invariant Image Comparison

If a physical object has a smooth or piecewise smooth boundary, its images obtained by cameras in varying positions undergo smooth apparent deformations. These deformations are locally well approximated by affine transforms of the image plane. In consequence the solid object recognition problem has often been led back to the computation of affine invariant image local features. Such invariant f...
